Art Wojak Sportsmanship award The Niagara Frontier High School Softball Umpire organization feels that sportsmanship is a key to all High School sports. Every year our organization awards the "Art Wojak Sportsmanship" plaque to one team from each league that we service. Every Varsity umpire is required to submit a "sportsmanship grade" for each team from each Varsity softball game that they umpire. Past winner of the Art Wojak award were:
Nan Harvey Memorial Award: An award was named in the honor of Nan Harvey. Nan was an umpire in our organization who stood for everything that is good about softball and women’s sport in general. Nan provided all around her the incentive to strive to be the best you can. She promoted women’s sports in Western New York and nationally. The award is given to some one who has shown exceptional commitment to women’s softball. The past winners have been:
Pete Fox Memorial Award: An award was named in honor of Pete Fox. Pete was an outstanding person and umpire. The award is given yearly to a member of the Niagara Frontier Umpires Association who exhibits the traits Pete stood for. It is given to some one who is in the game for the true love of the sport of High School Softball. The past winners have been:
Used and/or new equipment Used (useable) and/or new softball umpire equipment can be donated to our organization at any Niagara Frontier Board of Softball Umpires softball meeting. Used or new umpire gear that is donated is used to assist our rookie umpires to help defray the start up cost of umpiring.
